PASTURE-RAISED, GRASS-FED BEEF

The grass-fed, grass-finished beef on our farm comes from Heritage Breed Red Poll Cattle. These hardy cows known for their flavor and tenderness have never seen a piece of grain and will never smell a feed lot. Instead they are moved daily throughout their lives to enjoy fresh pastures of native grass. Our intensive grazing system enables our cows to help regenerate the earth by putting carbon back into the land, bringing the soil back to life.

PASTURE-RAISED EGGS

Our colorful, pasture-raised eggs are harvested from an array of chickens who are moved to fresh pasture every single day. Our chickens move with the sheep and follow the cows in their grazing rotation and spend their nights in a portable egg mobile. The chickens are fed non-GMO and non-soy grain exclusively. No antibiotics, animal byproducts, or hormones.

PASTURE-RAISED LAMB

We pasture raise St. Croix sheep. Like most of our animals our sheep are heritage breed. St. Croix sheep are listed on Slow Food’s Arc of Taste for their incredible taste, history, and limited quantities. Our sheep are grass-fed, grass-finished and moved daily following the cows. This process produces a great tasting product that is naturally lean, low in saturated fats, and high in beneficial omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid).

PASTURE-RAISED PORK

We raise Gloucestershire Old Spots pigs, a heritage breed. Heritage breeds are the breeds common in farms of yore that have not been genetically altered to fit the needs of industrial agriculture. According to The Livestock Conservancy, “Because these breeds have been developed and selected over time, they tend to have better disease resistance, are well-adapted to their environments, and thrive in pasture-based settings.”

PASTURE-RAISED CHICKEN

Our chickens are pasture raised. They are fed a diet of non-soy, non-GMO feed, extra fruit and vegetables from the farmer's meals, and whatever grass and bugs they can forage. They spend the first four weeks of their life under a heat lamp in our brooders. They then move onto pasture where they always have access to fresh grass.

HERITAGE TURKEY

A heritage turkey makes a great choice for a holiday dinner or special occasion. Unlike most store bought turkeys which are often grown so fast and are so big-breasted that they can barely walk, our heritage breed turkeys have been slow-raised with room to run and fly. Our turkeys were raised moving across the pasture to new grass weekly, and then eventually free-ranged in and out of our fruit tree orchard. They have been fed non-GMO and non-soy grain exclusively. No antibiotics, animal byproducts, or hormones.

*Sorry, no turkeys this year — We’re building a new brooder and will have turkeys again in 2025!
